I am said girl being driven insane by, what i thought was, a very reputable hosting company...not so! both lisa and i have wasted hours over the past two weeks trying to gain a 'human' reply to my gradually not so polite massages, this is where i have got to:

'This is completely ridiculous, the details you have sent me, once again, are the same ones i keep being sent which are useless!!! they are the details to the domain that i closed 6 months ago, and there is still no sign of my ollies dolly domain anywhere.
I do not have the time to be dealing with your petty system which doesnt even allow me to speak to anyone and keeps sending me the same automated reply over and over again.
I am telling you that i want you to unlock the domain name and send me the auth code so that i can change it over to 123-reg, immediately as i want nothing more to do with (company name).
I will be filing a complaint today about your awfull customer service.
i expect a reply asap with the details i have asked for.
thank you.'

to which the heartfelt reply was:

'Thank you so much for your email, we have sent the domain details to you'

which they havent!
the only reason i havent given up yet is the fact that i have lisa to email with my frustration and obcenities and (once she has laughed and calmed me down!) she has helped me immensly!

Thanks Pete, good point and really interesting article. I'd recommend anyone interested to definitely read it.

And yes you are right, we're very keen to keep a close eye on the quality of our work. High quality work = happy customers = repeat work (hopefully) and provides a good foundation upon which to build. However getting a flexible workforce who are able to produce high quality results is ultimately a good idea for any company, regardless of where they are based.

On the other hand, the rate the Indian economy is expanding and growing, (and they way ours is looking at the moment), they'll be outsourcing all their work to us before long, plus I'm sure they have hotter summers. :)

I think it depends on your passion more than anything sometimes. As a developer/company owner you take pride in your work. Outsourcing basically strips you of that control over each aspect. You'd probably get a good result (company depending) but would it still be an 18aproduction.

I think it's a bit of a passing fad as I've seen a lot of people complaining the work wasn't up to scratch or the company just ripped off an existing design.

That said though, there is a counter argument <a href="http://www.thinkvitamin.com/features/biz/working-with-web-developers-in-india-why-whom-and-how" rel="nofollow">here</a> so it's probably not all bad.

Just my 2 cents

For what its worth I have my laptop running Safari and it installed on my P.C here at work too.
http://www.apple.com/safari/download/

For the most part they look the same. One thing tho with Safari mac, if you using inline lists I believe you need to give the ul or ol element a defined width. I'm not 100% on this but I remember running into this problem before.
