Tom and Lisa founded 18a productions in 2007, and have since built up a long list of happy clients and great people to work with. Customer service, attention to detail and technical expertise are and always have been our core business values and as a result we've worked with some of our clients for over a decade.
We always meet deadlines, we push ourselves to think of the caveats and loop holes that you may not have thought of and we keep your ROI in mind during everything we do.

We're not reliant on software or outsourcing to other coders we have a fantastic skill set within 18a Productions so you can be sure you’re talking with the people actually doing the work. We work with open source technologies and our semantically correct, hand written code is quick to load.

We’ve been making websites for clients and for ourselves for years so we can help you really explore what your site needs to do and then make sure it does it. Whilst we're a technology company we don’t baffle you with jargon. Everyone you speak to at 18a can explain things clearly and make sure you understand everything being discussed. Communication is vital in a web project no matter what size and we work hard to make sure everyone is in the loop and understanding each other every step of the way!
Meet the team
Having our web expertise inhouse is very important to us and means our clients can speak directly to the technical people building their site. There are none of the delays or potential miss-understandings that can occur when messages are relayed to other companies or short term contract workers, or even non-english speaking developers, based in different timezones scattered across the globe. It's this stability and continuity that has resulted in us working for some of our clients ever since the business was founded, way back in 2007.
Lisa Freeman
CEO
2020 marks Lisa's 18th year of working in the digital sector, during which time she has planned and designed easy to use sites, apps and systems for clients such as the BBC, Sainsbury's and countless tech start ups. Lisa started her career in Brighton working for an online PR company meaning that websites we produce convey exactly what you need them to - and grab attention whilst doing so. When she's not in the office you can find her baking cakes for the various baby groups she attends as the mum of a toddler and a baby.
Tom Freeman
CTO
Tom has a degree in Computing and Information Systems and over 19 years of commercial coding experience building websites, applications and tools for government departments and businesses all over the world. It was during his third year at university whilst working in industry that he discovered his passion for the web and hasn't looked back since. Tom is a full stack LAMP developer with extensive experience with a wide range of backend and frontend technologies and brings a depth of knowledge and experience as well as a passion for learning new skills, which has always been an essential component to developing the web. As well as technical nous, he also has a keen eye for design, aesthetics and UX/UI. When he's not building websites, you can find Tom nurturing the 18a cider orchard in the beautiful Mendips AONB!
Dean Woodyatt
Full Stack Developer
Dean is a developer here at 18a specialising in backend, LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) development. In true 18a style, he’s fast thinking and efficient so he can turn around even the most complex requests quickly, providing a great ROI. He's also a super keen PC gamer, so if you've ever wanted to know more about MOBA - or even want to know what it is, then Dean is the guy to ask about it.
Sam Freeman
Motion Graphics
Sam is our motion graphics, video design and animation partner. We've worked closely with sam at Scruf.tv on a couple of projects and consider him part of the team. His witty and geniunely stunning animations will blow you away.
Jon Innes
Front End Developer
Jon primarily focuses on front end development at 18a, working across WordPress and MVC based projects. He's always got a front-end trick up his sleeve for creating a great effect and ensures mobile experiences are as smooth as those on a desktop. When he's not tinkering with CSS, you'll find him taking some rather lovely photos, or catching up on the latest block buster.

If you have a problem, Monk is a great listener! Just explain the issue you're having and by the time you've finished you might just have the answer you were looking for. It's surprising how saying something out loud can help unravel even the most confusing coding problem.
