About Us

We make clever sites which are incredibly simple to use. Leave all the complicated stuff to us and concentrate on running your business.

All websites produced by 18a productions adhere to the latest industry standards - ensuring their longevity and accessibility. Each project is assessed throughout the design process for it's attention to industry accessibility guidelines, and optimised for search engines. A user friendly experience for your customers is a must!

We pride ourselves on excellent customer service and work enthusiastically and diligently to meet all deadlines. We're a friendly team - you're always welcome to ask any questions you may have! And as we very much appreciate the importance of a website to a business, we only host sites on reliable servers safe in the knowledge we're offering you an excellent service.

We enjoy the variety in our work, and getting to know you and your business is important and helps us design and build a website to be proud of, and one that will work for you. We don't see our service as simply 'making your site' - this is why for all sites we create we offer a free marketing consultation, and basic search engine optimisation.

Tom Freeman and Lisa Bailey founded 18a productions in 2007, and have since built up a long list of happy clients and great people to work with.

Meet the team

If you'd like to join our happy team, check out any available vacancies in our blog.

Tom Freeman Technical Director

Tom has a degree in computing and over 12 years of commercial coding experience building websites and web based applications for government departments and businesses all over the world. As well as having a keen eye for design and being a master all things HTML and CSS, he is also extremely experienced with LAMP technologies (inc. PHP and MySQL) and all the tools required to make cutting edge websites. When he's not building websites, you can find Tom building things in his garden - whether it's a tomato planter or a garden shed!

Lisa Bailey UX and Design

2014 marked Lisa's 10th year of working in the digital sector, during which time she has planned and designed easy to use sites, apps and systems for clients such as the BBC, Sainsbury's and countless tech start ups. Lisa started her career in Brighton working for an online PR company meaning that websites we produce convey exactly what you need them to - and grab attention whilst doing so. When she's not in the office you can find her baking cakes for the various baby groups she attends as a new mum!

Andrew Milne Web Developer

Andrew is our frontend development guru. Anything CSS or Javascript related, he's your man! He loves solving the seemingly unsolvable and always comes up with a great solution. He's also an avid pool player, so drop by and challenge him to a game.

Jodie Thorne Designer

After joining us as a Junior Designer, Jodie has blossomed into our go-to-girl for anything design. Clients love her fresh approach and she’s always keen to brief developers on the effects and animations she wants to use in order to add some va-va-voom.

Dean Woodyatt Developer

Dean is a developer here at 18a specialising in backend, LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) development. He's also a super keen PC gamer, so if you've ever wanted to know more about MOBA - or even want to know what it is, then Dean is the guy to ask about it.

Lian Account Manager

Lian has recently joined us from an account management background, having worked with major clients such as 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures, Cartoon Network and ITV. Her years of experience in the media industry means she not only has a creative flair but she also possesses fantastic communication skills meaning she's on hand to listen to your needs, work with our developers and guide you through the process every step of the way. When she's not in the office you can find her frequenting the local vintage fairs and flea markets in search of something unique!

Monk Web Monkey

If you have a problem, Monk is a great listener! Just explain the issue you're having and by the time you've finished you might just have the answer you were looking for. It's surprising how saying something out loud can help unravel even the most confusing coding problem.

Sam Freeman Motion Graphics

Sam is our motion graphics, video design and animation partner. We've worked closely with sam at Scruf.tv on a couple of projects and consider him part of the team. His witty and geniunely stunning animations will blow you away. Take a look at his latest showreel here and prepare to be amazed!
