Wow! Here's an amazing video by Dr Shai Avidan and Dr Ariel Shamir to support their paper on 'Seam Carving for Content-Aware Image Resizing'. It's a few minutes long, but it's worth watching to the end - where they make people disappear! Ooh! To be able to seamlessly extend or contract an image, without causing distortion - priceless! I'd highly recommend watching it.
