Hi,
Happy New Year! I hope you had a restful Christmas and a fun New Year, and are feeling refreshed and excited for 2026!
Just a short one from me this week, as your inbox will be packed, no doubt.
Make sure anything about Christmas or New Year is removed from your website as soon as possible this week.
Think postage times, closure dates and times. Check your home page, check venue/location pages if you’re a hospitality brand, check your contact page if you just added a note there.
If you wrote a blog post, you don’t need to delete it but make sure it’s not still on the home page (write something new if that’s an easy way to bump it off) and make sure it’s dated so if people search for you next year it’s clear that that post was about your 2025 hours. (Or just delete it – if you put a lot of time into it as a big round up of your year, then just make sure the date is clear. If it was super short just about your services over Christmas, delete it as it probably isn’t carrying much SEO benefit.)
OK, I promised it’d be short this week. I’ll be back next week with another thing to do on your website and a recap on some useful resources for the year ahead.
Speak soon,
Lisa
