,Then you might be who we're looking for!
Due to a constantly expanding client list, and the success of our existing clients, we're looking for an individual with a great attention to detail and fantastic communication skills to help us deliver our technical projects to established companies and exciting start ups large and small.
You'll be organised, have an eye for detail, be able to make quick decisions and just generally always know what's going on with the projects you're handling. Crucially, you'll have a technical background so you can be an efficient middle-man between the client and the developer - ensuring every one has the info they need and nothing turns into a game of Chinese Whispers due to miscommunications or misunderstandings.
As well as ensuring current projects run smoothly, you'll be able to effectively take a client's requirements, point out any holes and help them work out solutions (with their budget, marketing objectives and ROI in mind at all times) and prepare full briefs for our team of developers to execute. In time if not initially, you'll be able to price work and help win new work. Our projects are typically bespoke builds on the CodeIgniter or Laravel frameworks, or bespoke themes for WordPress so experience with those platforms would be ideal. You'll be able to hear a brief and know which platform would suit the project.
If you were willing or able to jump in on the coding side of things when developers were tied up, that'd be excellent.
You'll be a problem solver who can spot the gaps in what a client is reporting to get to the heart of the issue, or be confident testing bespoke systems from all angles to recreate an issue. Experience with Axure wireframing software and your choice of database planning tool would be great, as would basic knowledge of PhotoShop.
Although it goes without saying really, a strong interest in the web is vital - we're a team who are passionate about the Internet and all that it offers the world! You'll need to fully engage in projects and be comfortable suggesting solutions and ideas around usability and features.
At 18a, we work hard and we work quickly. And at times over the last decade we have been guilty of falling into the eat - sleep - code - repeat cycle. But we know that this isn't a good way of life, and so we now have fail safes to ensure everyone at 18a gets chance to feel creative and clear headed - which in turn aids productivity.
Things we do:
Salary will be dependent on skills and experience; we're happy to hear from experienced developers, technical project managers and newbies who still meet the criteria above. Please contact us with your CV and some examples of your work. This role could be full or part time.
Please please pretty please - no agencies! :) And please agencies, don't pretend you didn't read this bit ;)
