AI Readiness Audit

Is your website usable by AI?

More and more of your visitors aren’t people. They’re AI systems – reading your site to answer someone’s question, comparing you against competitors, and increasingly clicking your buttons and filling in your forms on a real customer’s behalf.

A website can look absolutely lovely to a human and be borderline invisible to those systems. The content hides in a slideshow. The buttons are pretty boxes the code doesn’t explain. The “who are these people and can I trust them?” signals just aren’t there in a form a machine can check.

Our AI readiness audit tells you exactly where you stand – and exactly what to fix first.

We check three things.

01

Can these systems READ you?

Is your content actually reachable and understandable in the code, or trapped in animations, images and messy markup?

02

Can they TRUST you?

Is your entity data (the structured data that says who you are, and backs it up with sources they can verify) present and corroborated?

03

And can they USE you?

Could an agent navigate your site, understand your buttons and complete your forms without a human brain attached?

What is an AI readiness audit?

It’s a structured review of your website through the eyes of the systems that now sit between you and your customers: AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, the search features they power, and the agents that browse and act on a user’s behalf.

You get a prioritised report in plain English. Not a 90-page data dump – a “here’s what’s costing you, here’s the order to fix it in, and here’s why” document your team (or your developers – or even we, if I may be so bold) can act on.

Why does this matter now?

Because recommendations are moving. When someone asks an AI “who should I use for X?”, the AI wants to give the right answer – and it doesn’t know if you’re any good. It can only work with what it can retrieve and verify about you. If that’s thin, you don’t get mentioned. Your competitor with the machine-readable trust signals does.

And it’s gone beyond recommendations. Agents now book, buy and enquire for people. If an agent screenshots your page and the key service is on slide two of a carousel, it may never know that slide exists.

A missed agentic conversion is still a missed conversion – the person behind that agent had real intent and real budget.

We’ve written a lot about this – our posts on designing for agentic AI and why you don’t need two websites, but do need to build differently are the thinking behind this audit.

This page you’re reading now was built to those rules. So was the rest of our site.

What do we actually check?

The audit covers, among other things:

  • Entity data and structured data Whether your Organisation and people are properly declared, whether the important types are present, and whether your sameAs corroboration actually corroborates. Because not all structured data is equal – content markup without entity markup is a filing system with no ID card.
  • Retrieval-readiness of your content Headings, semantic HTML, whether what the page SAYS visibly matches what the code says underneath.
  • Agentic usability Buttons coded as buttons, forms with persistent labels, navigation reachable without hovering, content visible without scrolling triggers or slideshows.
  • The technical floor Layout stability (CLS – the jumping-around-as-it-loads score), page speed, crawler access, robots rules that accidentally block AI systems.

For your developers

The technical bit

We audit rendered DOM against source for content parity; JSON-LD coverage, validity and entity corroboration (Organization/Person/Service, sameAs, review–entity linking); semantic and actionable HTML (native controls vs styled divs, ARIA labelling, label association on forms); accessibility-tree completeness for interactive elements; CWV with emphasis on CLS; robots.txt and meta directives for the main AI crawlers; and heading/anchor descriptiveness for passage-level retrieval.

Findings arrive mapped to specific templates and components, not just URLs – so fixes land once, in the right place.

What do you get, and what does it cost?

£350 + VAT

The audit is £350 + VAT. That gets you a written report with a prioritised fix list, and a clear steer on what’s a quick win versus what needs a developer.

We can then make the fixes ourselves, hand them to your team, or work alongside your existing developers – we don’t tread on toes.

We publish the price because we know how annoying it is when you can’t find out if something’s in budget without booking a call first.

FAQ

A few practical questions

Who’s this for?

Anyone whose website wins them work. It’s especially worth it if you’re about to invest in marketing (no point driving attention to a site AI can’t parse), if you’ve noticed competitors getting mentioned by AI tools when you’re not, or if you’re planning a rebuild – because some of this can’t be cheaply fixed after a site is built , and an audit beforehand makes your brief sharper and your build cheaper.

How long does it take?

You’ll have the report within a few working days – and we’ll give you an actual date when you book.
