Code for America... Why not Code for Britain?

tom Tom, 23rd July 2010

I just stumbled upon this interesting project currently going on in the US.

Code for America is a project aimed at bringing some of the skills and experience from the private tech sector into government to help councils in cities around the US become more efficient.

I particularly like the comment that consumers think of a problem and the tech industries response is 'there's an app for that', whereas your typical council response might be 'there's a form for that'. How true!

So with David Cameron pushing for the 'Big Society' and asking everyone to pitch in, where can I sign up for Code for Britain?
